Full Description
An area of clearance cairns and rig cultivation in possible association with a hut circle (see MHG28211) was recorded by J Wordsworth during an ESA survey in 1997. To the east and north of the roundhouse is an extensive area of cultivation represented by clearance cairns and remnant rigs measuring 2m in width. Traces of enclosure walls survive at the north of the area. As the clearance cairns extend into areas not defined by the enclosure walls, it is likely the walls and probably the rigs define a secondary use of this area, perhaps dating to more recent times. <1>
