Full Description

In June 2015, a walkover survey was undertaken in Lamington Forestry block, Tain by Anne Coombs on behalf of the Forestry Commission Scotland to identify and demarcate archaeological sites in advance of clear fell operations.

Site 1; Building (a) c.16m NNE-SSW by c.5m externally with walls c.1m wide and up to c.0.75m high set into the slope on the west side and grass covered to a great extent, with a little visible stone. There are 2 large trees on the north end of the building and 1 on the southeast corner. The structure was taped and marked by gps and photographed. <1>
