Full Description

An enclosure at Achadh Mor, possibly the remains of a hut circle.

Between May and August 2012, a survey was undertaken by the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NoSAS) to identify, survey, and record the archaeological remains at Achadh Mor, Loch Garve. Site 18; Enclosure. A roughly circular enclosure in birchwood, on a N-S alignment measuring 14m x 12m. The wasted stone footings of the enclosure are up to 0.5m high with a spread generally of 0.8m although it is 3m in places. <1>

The site is not visible on vertical aerial photographs because of tree cover but it may just be visible in SEPA LiDAR. <2>
