Full Description
Ruined buildings at Lagan-a-bhainne.
The features were recorded in 2013 during a walkover survey by Headland Archaeology in advance of the proposed Culachy Windfarm. Low turf-covered footings of a rectangular stone building, roughly 12 x 5m over walls spread to 0.8m wide along the side walls and 1.2m at the NE gable. Prominent line of large tumble along the N long wall. Traces of a second building, roughly 6 x4m externally, lie 2m to the SW, on a slightly different alignment. The gap between the two structures is filled with tumble. Trackway, possibly an earlier line of the Military Road, can be traced immediately to the N of the building. <1>
