Full Description

The remains of a post-medieval settlement at Shendale.

The site is shown on the OS 1st Edition 6" map and is listed in the OS Name Books, 1868-1871 for Morayshire. <1>

Notice of the site was brought to the attention of the HER by C. Maciejewski in 2022 and photographs were submitted.<2>

The settlement is shown on historic OS mapping, however, to the immediate southeast a smaller area containing the remains of a long building at its southern end is also visible on aerial photographs but not shown on mapping [IS-L 08/02/2000].
