A hut circle at Hinnesdal.

138967 856989 AW082 Hinnesdal Track 3: The hut circle was visited by A Welti in 2013 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross. This oval stone structure is in fair condition. It sits on a very gentle slope in a cluster of three stone structures, is adjacent to an enclosure and is associated with field boundaries of turf and stone. Vegetation in and around the structure is grassland. It is 10m from AW081 (see MHG62656) and has panoramic views inland. The double skinned wall has average inner diameter is 5m, average outer diameter is 6.5m. The possible entrance faces SW. The external entrance width is 2m, internal width is 0.8m and the entrance length is 2m. Shieling huts have been built over the structure and this may have altered its shape. <2> <3>
