Full Description
Illicit still bothy. This still was recorded in a walkover survey by Meryl Marshall of NOSAS on 26th May 2018.
Located 2.5kms south of Scatwell House at an altitude of 320m the stone footings of this rectangular building are hidden behind and to the west of a small knoll. The building is on an E-W alignment and measures 5.5m x 3m internally. The walls are recessed into the slope on the N and E sides where they are between 0.4m and 0.8m high. The west wall is double faced and up to 0.7m high and 0.6m thick but the front/S wall is defined by random stones only. <1>
