Full Description
Creag an Deoiridh
Shieling; the turf remains of an oval shieling was recorded by Meryl Marshall of NOSaS on 8th Nov 2018. It is on a NW-SE alignment lie on the north side of the old track from Croftown to Dundonnell, in a fertile grassy area of sloping ground at an altitude of 185m. The building measures 3m x 2m internally and is surrounded by low turf banks 0.2m high. There may be other shielings in the vicinity but it was difficult to be certain since there has been much more recent activity in the area. Photo – shieling looking SE. <1>
