Full Description

A building is shown on the current 1:25000 OS map at 923m asl in an exposed position on a broad ridge about 350 metres west of the summit of Meall Gorm in the Fannich mountain range. When visited it appeared to consist of three open-ended compartments, facing east. See attached diagram for approximate dimensions and shape. (Accurate measurement was impractical in the context of 40mph winds and blizzard conditions). In view of its position and altitude this is likely to be a Colby Camp. The interior of the structure was covered in snow at the time of the visit, so internal detail was not discerned. Of note is that the middle compartment has the remains of a roof, which consists of corbelled flat stones. <1>
