Dun Garbhlaich

Still 1; On the west bank of the Allt na Criche, about 250m south of its emergence from the Loch nan Dubh Lochan, is a ruined building, almost certainly a still. Set 1m from the edge of the Allt, it is orientated NS, 6m x 2m. The east wall is now almost completely absent except for the NE & SE corners. The western wall is dug out of the bank, and consists of packed rubble up to 1m high. The southern wall stands to 1m, with several courses of large boulders still standing, best seen from the south. The north wall stands to 0.7m, but is now covered in heather. The NE rebate of this wall, and the north part of the east wall stands to 0.8m. The interior is grassy and vegetated with no obvious remaining surface. A large rock slab 3m high protects the still from being seen from the south. <1>
