Full Description

This panel was recorded as part of the ScRAP (Scotland’s Rock Art project) by members of NoSAS in August 2018. The panel is situated on a south facing slope overlooking the Sgitheach river with Cioch Mhor pap visible to the northwest with both Sutors visible in the distance through gap in the hills. Balnacrae Chambered Cairn (Canmore 12919) is 700m northeast at a similar elevation. The panel lies in a broad shallow gully running SSE, with a minor burn to the east. Strath Sgitheach Balnacrae Lower is approximately 100m south.

Oval smoothly rounded panel 2.2m x 1.1m, sloping 15 degrees south. Smooth surface with prominent quartz vein. 15 cups down the centre. One cup has the hint of possible ring. <1>
