Full Description
A ruined building on the north side of the Allt Badair Dhonnadh, Clais Mor, Sutherland, recorded by S Farrell in 2018 during a survey prior to a proposed forestry re-stocking scheme. It was found to be comprised of a single rectangular building of rubble aligned NW-SE of 2 compartments overall 14.8m by 5.2m with walls 0.75m wide and up to 1.8m high. Internally it had one doorway with two later ‘lambing pens’ built into 2 corners – A 1.2m by 1.6m, B 1.8m x 1.05m by 0.8m high. A possible quarry scoop was visible to the southwest on opposite side of burn. It may have been a shepherd's hut built at the same time as the nearby sheepfold (see MHG63336). <1>
