Full Description
This panel was recorded by members of NoSAS (Rock Art Group) in March 2024. Wester Clunes 1 and 2 are close together in an open field at the top of a low SW-NE ridge with extensive views in all directions, about 40m south of a gate in the fence. There is a scatter of boulders along the top of the ridge, slightly raised above the farmed area, and the two panels are amongst these.
The panel is gneiss 2.6m x 1.5m overall with many curving quartz bands and a smooth surface. The smaller south part of the panel is separated from the main north part by vegetation. The top of the panel is flat and slopes gently to the south. There are 5 cups on the north end of the panel, two of which are deeper than the others, and in which water collects. <1>
