Full Description

DBAs and walkover surveys were carried out by CFA Archaeology Ltd in November 2002 and April 2003 in advance of a proposed wind farm development at Cambusmore Estate, near Bonar Bridge, Sutherland.

Site 17: A hut circle c.6m in diameter sits on a revetted platform on the south-facing hillside. The hut is defined by roughly circular, eroded turf and stone banks c.1-1.5m wide and 0.1-0.5m high. The bank is badly eroded in the south side but better preserved in the north and east sides. A possible entrance is visible in the southeast, defined by a narrow, stone lined corridor 1m wide by 2.5m long. There is a break through the bank in the northeast. <1>
