Full Description
The remains of a farmstead and/or settlement site near Altnagar Lodge Hotel. The site consists of a system of dykes within which are several smaller enclosures visible on vertical aerial photographs. They are partly overlain by the later house and policies of the Altnagar Lodge Hotel. A single large enclosure is shown at this location stretching northwards from the Allt an Rèidhe on historic OS mapping. Building remains may exist but are obscured by vegetation if they do. There may be at least two separate phases of dyke construction. <1>
