Full Description

The site of a possible chambered cairn at Logie Easter.

In comparing sites and placenames on an estate map dating to 1756 with other historic maps, a site labelled 'Standing stones' is shown at the approximate site of the late C19 Logie Easter Church. This may have been the remains of a Neolithic chambered cairn as removal of cairn material at other sites in the past has often left upright stones from their internal construction giving the appearance of a ring of stones. The site of the possible cairn appears to be at or close to the southwest corner of the current churchyard, possibly where the entranceway to the car park immediately adjacent to the church to its west leaves the public road. <1>
