Full Description
A possible shieling hut to the northeast of Loch a' Bhiocair. It was noted and recorded by C Dagg in 2017 during a walkover survey undertaken in advance of a proposed forestry scheme on the Surtherland Estate.
Site 4. Located on a small knoll are the remains of a small hut-like structure. An arc of stones to the southwest indicate a circular structure approximately 6m in diameter. The date and function of this hut are unclear, although it is likely that this is on a former route or drove road between Kirkton and Aberscross in Strath Fleet. There is no evidence for cultivation or ground improvement in the vicinity but it may be classed as an isolated shieling hut. <1>
