Full Description
The township of Sheigra by Loch Inchard.
As depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, the township comprised 15 roofed buildings in two spatially separate clusters. Outside the dyked enclosures around the immediate area of the buildings, vertical aerial photography shows little evidence of additional cultivation areas, although a small area of rig or lazy beds is visible to the northeast of the smaller, southern, cluster of the township (see MHG40155). Both areas display characteristics of having been in existence prior to the establishment of crofting townships. <1> <2>
