Full Description
The township of Badcall by Loch Inchard.
An unlabelled settlement with associated fields is shown at this approximate location on the Roy Military Survey maps, though the coastline shown by Roy is somewhat different to actuality so it is difficult to be entirely certain. As depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, the township comprised 19 roofed buildings in a relatively small area in an arc around an area of dyked fields with the latter of typical appearance and layout of crofting townships. Outside the dyked enclosures vertical aerial photography shows an area of additional cultivation comprising rig and/or lazybeds to the immediate west. This may have its origins with a pre-crofting township. <1> <2>
