Full Description
An area of field system, rig and furrow and clearance cairns in Cawdor Wood. The features are visible in SEPA/Scottish Gov LiDAR data and cover an area c.750m x 350m. They are clearly earlier than the woodland and since Timothy Pont shows this as 'Cawdor Park', so either a medieval or early post-medieval deer park, they may be medieval in date. There are also four possible hut circles within this area (see MHG65438-41) but the cultivation areas do not look prehistoric, although there is probably an underlying prehistoric system not readily apparent in the LiDAR data. <1>
