Full Description
A hut circle at Craigton. Originally recorded by the OS as hut circle 'C'.
Centred on NH 626 963, within an area of contemporary cultivation marked by scattered stone clearance heaps, is a settlement of three hut circles (A - C).
'A' measures 9.5m in diameter between wall centres with an entrance gap in the SSE.
'B' is oval, measuring 13.5m NW - SE by 11.5m NE-SW between centres of a peat-obscured wall with an entrance gap in the SE.
'C', ill-preserved, is 9.5m in diameter between wall centres with a depression in the ENE probably indicating the entrance gap.
Surveyed at 1/2500.

The site is visible in SEPA/Scottish Gov LiDAR data, though on vertical aerial photography evidence it appears to have been further damaged by agricultural work. <1> <2>
