Full Description

A survey of the archaeological and historic features was undertaken within Abernethy Forest Reserve for the RSPB in 1995.

A feature marked by a circular patch of heather c. 2.5m in diameter, and surrounded by dense juniper scrub, 3m to the north of Allt Clach Nan Coarach and the southern boundary of Rynettin. There was little evidence ostructural material remaining, but the immediate micro-habitat of clover, wild violet and bindweed suggest human activity - possibly the remains of a still, given the proximity to water. 50m to the east, within the same extensive dense patch of juniper is a line of rowans, birch and elder, running north from Allt Clach Nan Coarach. <1>
