Full Description

This feature was recorded by Mercer (1981).

An east/west field dyke extends for circa 70 m across the contours of a west-facing, terraced slope. On the lower or downslope part of this feature, a single course of large stones (up to 0.5 m) forms the outer face at each side of an earthen core. Upslope, there are no visible stones and the dyke slopes gently from a rounded apex to a broad base. The maximum dimensions of this feature are width, 1.5 m and height, 0.5 m. At the time of survey the dyke supported heather and grasses upslope, but was obscured by bracken downslope. <1>
