Full Description
A well-defined terrace (2 m to 3 m wide) extends over a distance of circa 40 m at the foot of a steep, south-facing slope and overlooks an area of low-lying, marshy ground. The terrace is defined on the south side by a low bank with occasional large stones protruding.This feature was previously recorded by Mercer (1981, 37-41) as Site No.144 and was interpreted as a dyke, but is interpreted here as a remnant trackway with an embanked shoulder. <1>
