Full Description

A hut circle to the south of Garthbeg. The site is visible in vertical aerial photography as a circular feature c.16m in diameter but appears to be at least partly overlain by later rig and furrow. It is clearly visible in aerial photography taken in 2005-6 and 2011. It was apparently not seen during a walkover survey carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2013 in advance of the proposed Correigarth Wind Farm (see EHG4401), but it is unclear whether this area was actually visited at the time. By 2015 the curve of an access track had been constructed immediately adjacent to its southwest arc and it may have either been damaged or partly buried by spoil. <1> <2> <3>
