Full Description
An area of rig and furrow to the south of Garthbeg. It is visible in vertical aerial photography to the north of two smaller areas (see MHG65832). It was not noted during a walkover survey carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2013 in advance of the proposed Correigarth Wind Farm (see EHG4401), but it is unclear whether this area was actually visited at the time. By 2015 a large part of the area appeared to have been either ploghed away or used for the dumping of spoil. The rig may be part of the cultivated areas associated with the settlement of 'Garthenmor' (Garthmore) as shown on the Roy Military Survey maps. <1> <2> <3> <4>
