Full Description
A former area of camp for Tain Airfield. Known as 'No 6 Site'. It has now been mostly redeveloped for housing though some of the concrete building bases survive and an area of woodland may be concealing some remains.
Detailed plans of the airfield dating to 1945-6 are held by the Royal Air Force Museum. A digital copy (albeit undated) is held in the HER collections. The camp is shown and labelled on the plan. However, there are also some concrete bases and at least one unroofed building visible on vertical aerial photographs which lie outside the area shown on the plan. <1> <2> <3>
