Full Description

A possible small hut circle or kiln at Achaeter, Caithness.

The feature is visible in LiDAR data gathered by AOC Archaeology in 2011 as part of the mitigation for the visual impact on the archaeological landscape associated with the proposed Baillie Hill windfarm, Caithness. It appears as a penannular bank c.7m in diameter with the open part of the bank facing southwest. It is small for a hut circle so it may alternatively have been a kiln. <1>

It is also just about visible in vertical aerial photography. <2>
