Full Description
Lying on flat ground covered in part by heather, grass and rushes on either side of the Allt Dubh Mor, the remains of several shieling-huts and a house are indicated by a change in vegetation.
Feature 2 is an oval shieling-hut on a N-S axis lying on a raised bank some 2m above the river and measuring 3.7m by 2.8m. The walls are up to lm thick and mostly heather covered. There is an entrance 0.6m wide facing the south east. In the grass covered interior a single stone 0.5m long is well embedded in the soil.
Feature 3 is due east of Feature 2, 25m away across an area of rushes. It lies on a N-S axis and measures 5.5m by 3m. The north wall has stone remaining in it and is 0.9m thick, with a height of 0.4m on the outside. There is an entrance 0.6m wide on the west side. A large stone occurs in the centre opposite the entrance. <1>
