Full Description

Lying on flat ground covered in part by heather, grass and rushes on either side of the Allt Dubh Mor, the remains of several shieling-huts and a house are indicated by a change in vegetation.

Feature 10; Close to its confluence with the main river, the stream flowing from Loch Coir' a' Phris forms a small sheltered side valley with steep slopes, mostly grass and heather covered, and here the remains of a shieling-hut are found. Lying on a N-S axis, the structure is sub-rectangular, with most stonework towards the west end closest to the burn. Internally it measures 3.3m by 1.7m. An entrance is situated at the north east corner and is 0.6m wide. The west end stonework displays three courses with a height of some 0.5m and it may have been battered. It is considered probable that the structure has been rebuilt or rehabilitated at some time. <1>
