Full Description
Feature 3; From the homestead site above Sandwood Loch, (Feature 5 below), the panorama of the hillside opposite, shown in the sketch below, is notable with a series of fields and enclosures clearly visible amongst the grass and heather. To the south of these Sandwood House (Feature 1) stands prominent on the skyline, above its fields enclosed by 19th century drystone dykes. In the limited time available and owing to the large extent of the estate to be walked, a detailed examination of the field systems was not possible. Further survey of this area in the future would be of interest. <1>
