Full Description

A second archaeological survey of Sandwood Estate in the parish of Eddrachillis was undertaken by ACFA in 2002.

A sub-circular structure 3.5m in diameter consisting of a low grassy bank l .0m wide by 0.2m high with some stones visible. It lies on a gently sloping grassy area close to the boundary fence of the croft at the end of the public road from the harbour at Kinlochbervie to Loch Clash. There are no visible internal features. There is an entrance on the south side, 0.8m wide. (Not drawn). The structure is quite small and is thought most probably to have been a store of some kind, but the alternative of its being a small house is not ruled out. <1>

NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
