Full Description
A second archaeological survey of Sandwood Estate in the parish of Eddrachillis was undertaken by ACFA in 2002.
Just above the stony beach on a gently sloping grassy area is a rectangular setting measuring externally 5.8m ENE/WSW by 4.8m, consisting of a low bank 0.6m wide, 0.05-0.1m high, grassy with some non-protruding stone. Inside this are traces of another rectangular setting 2.5m by 2.3m symmetrically placed, with a small grassy mound 0.25m high at its centre. The feature does not appear to be characteristic of a house or other building, and is tentatively interpreted as a Pictish grave. <1><2>
