Full Description
A second archaeological survey of Sandwood Estate in the parish of Eddrachillis was undertaken by ACFA in 2002.
Feature 1; Terraces. At the southwest foot of Cnoc na Moine a flat area 56m N-S by 15m E-W has been created out of the sandy soil. The south end has been closed off by a rough boulder bank 4.5m long and 0.8m high and within the area there are several rows of clearance material and some small clearance cairns. Below this another terrace has been created 15m N-S by 15m E-W, revetted at the south end by a very rough boulder wall 0.8m high which runs E-W for 7.5m. (Not drawn). <1>
