Full Description

Situated on the rear of the beach and N of the An Leth Allt are the remains of at least five boat nausts and two related structures. The larger and best preserved building (at NG 5817 4450) is stone-built and measures 9m N-S by 4.5m E-W over very broken walls. Between the above building and the sea there are the very badly degraded remains of a second structure. The five boat noosts are all stone-lined "U" shaped depressions measuring 4.5m by 2.0m internally.

Feature 33; Boat noost. Situated just above the shoreline lies a U shaped structure made of turf and stone walling. The walls are approximately 1.2m wide and 0.5m high at a maximum. This is the largest of the boat noosts.

Features 34, 35, 36 & 37; Boat noosts. Four boat noosts lie on east to west axes. They are scarped out of the bank, immediately above the shoreline. The sides are of turf with traces of stone revetting. The walls are 0.5m high. The internal dimensions are; Feature 34: 4.0m by 1.8m. Feature 35: 4.0m by 2.3m. Feature 36: 3.5m by 2.0m. Feature 37: 4.6m by 2.5m. <2>
