Full Description
NH85NE 21 87 55 to 88 56.
The gallows stood at the west end of the town, near Lodgehill and the road leading to it was called the Gallowgate.
G Bain 1893.
The site of the gallows was not located during field investigation. The Gallowgate, now known as Lodgehill Road, extends from NH 8822 5634 to approximately NH 8790 5587
Visited by OS (E G C) 30 November 1961.
