The size and position of this island suggest that it may be artifical. OS map annotated by E Scott, 17 May 1965.

This island at NH 9559 4717, which is almost submerged, is surmounted by trees. It does not appear to be artificial and no trace of a causeway was found. No further info could be found locally.
