No traces are visible in an arable field of a cist found in 1876.
RCAHMS 1978, visited May 1978; OS 6" map, Nairnshire, 2nd ed. (1906), sheet ii SW
Nothing significant was seen at this site and no further information was obtained locally.
Visited by OS (RD) 25 November 1965.
The site of this cist shows as a large dark soilmark immediately adjacent to a field boundary in aerial photographs taken by RCAHMS in 1992. Although there is apparently no information recorded by the OS at the time (at least none available) regarding the circumstances of its discovery, it is possible that the cist was found during the excavation of a quarry pit although the OS don't show one here on any map editions. In itself that might explain the soilmark, but alternatively the cist may have been part of a larger site. <1>
