NH84NE 12 857 454.
Field clearance.
Visible on RAF APs F21/58/RAF/1116: 0067-9 - flown 8 5 1953.
Centred at NH 857 455 is a settlement of three hut circles (A-C) and an ill-defined contemporary field system.
Hut "A" circular and measures c12.5m diameter between centres of a wall greatly obscured by peat. The ill-defined entrance is in ESE.
Huts "B" and "C" are contiguous. Each is oval and measures c.12.5m by c10m between centres of a wall spread to c.3m. The long axis in "B" is W-E with the simple entrance in E. The long axis in "C" is NW- SE with the ill-defined entrance in SE.
The field system is comprised of stone clearance heaps greatly obscured by peat and heather and no details of cultivation plots could be ascertained. There are traces of field walls in the W.
Surveyed at 1/10 000. Visited by OS (A A) 11 November 1971.
None of the hut circles could be located.
