Full Description

NC30NW 8 3151 0909.

(NC 3151 0909) On ridge at 500ft OD is a chambered cairn which has been almost entirely robbed. No definite edge to cairn is discernible although there is clear evidence of an orthostatic chamber measuring 3.75m by 2.75m. Across area of the passage is a displaced lintel or capstone. Most of the cairn material would have been robbed to build the adjacent sheep-pen.
J M Howell 1976 (see archive).

A fortuitous natural arrangement of boulders and slabs superficially resembling a chambered cairn situated on a ridge. Not an antiquity. Visited by OS (N K B) 23 June 1980.
