Preas Mairi is still used as a private burial ground of the McKenzies and is well kept. The earliest gravestone is dated 1768. There is no trace of an earlier Christian burial ground here. What Reeves is referring to are remains of a chambered cairn within the burial ground (see NH 45 NE 5)
