Full Description

Mound (NR) OS 6"map, Caithness, 2nd ed., (1907)

Situated on flat moorland just outside the enclosed land are what appear to be indefinite remains of an enclosure with an annexe attached to its W side. The enclosure measures about 20m N-S by 13m transversely, with a gap of some 5m in its S quadrant. The attached annexe measures about 16m N-S by 12m transversely. The whole costruction is formed by a mutilated bank of earth and stone some 5m wide and 1.2m high.
Visited by OS (W D J) 15 April 1962.

(ND 0822 5644) Enclosure (NR) OS 6"map, (1963)

An irregular enclosure, approximately 24m across each way, formed by a heather-covered stony bank at most pronounced 3m broad and 0.5m high; nterior is disburbed by pits and amorphous heaps. There is a probable entrance break in S. An old bank abuts enclosure on NE side, but it is probably not contemporary. The enclosure appears to be of some age, but its purpose remains uncertain (of ND05NE 25).
Revised at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (J M) 2 July 1981.
