Full Description
In 2014 ARCH provided a number of courses, field trips and other activities exploring and researching the remains of the 19th century engineer, road and church builder Thomas Telford. A project was undertaken in Kyle of Sutherland, during which many sites, some not directly related to Telford, were visited and photographed by participants. Local tradition is that Fearn Lodge was built by the railway to compensate for loss of access to Fearn Cottage. It is present on the 1st edition OS map, but in the period between then and the 2nd edition a number of ancillary buildings were erected, including kennels, boathouses and targets. The house has been in the same family for four generations. <1>
GIS spatial data amended in 2018 according to OS MasterMap. <2>
