A Pictish Cross-slab found in the floor of Rosemarkie church is now housed in Rosemarkie, Groam House Museum. See NH75NW 7.1
Groam House Maclean, Draper, Stationer, Milliner
Annie Douglas Maclean is recorded as a grocer in Slater’s 1911 but described as ‘merchant drapery’ and ‘stationer’ in the 1911 census plus ‘milliner’ in the 1901 census . She worked from home. The back house tenant was Christina Sinclair. <1>
The unusual name ‘Groam’ was chosen by Mr Maclean, a Merchant ,when he moved to Rosemarkie from Groam, Kirkhill. <2>
