Full Description

NH76NE 2.2 7925 6707.

Situated some 50m NNW of Cromarty House is a stone-built well, probably associated with the former Cromarty Castle. The well is bottle-shaped, 2.7m deep to the present water-level and 2.0m in diameter at the bottom. The shaft, 0.5m in diameter, is covered by an iron lid.
Surveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS 28 January 1966.
