Full Description
NC64NE 22 674 466.
Minor deserted settlement on both sides of a stream. The remains comprise a rectangular building footing 13m by 5m, two sub-oval footings 6.5m by 3.5m and 7m by 3m, vague signs of rig and furrow, and a bounding bank. Outside the last in the north on the banks of the stream are the footings of two other buildings, 5m by 4m and 4.5m by 4m, one occupying the NW end of a sub-rectangular enclosure 23m by 8m. A post-Clearance sheepfold has been built on the site.
Visited by OS (JM) 5 July 1978.
This farmstead comprising one unroofed building, a cicular sheepfold, and a head-dyke are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xxxv). Three unroofed buildings, a sheepfold and a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1992).
