Full Description

At NC 5093 1837, situated at SE end of the ridge Cnoc na Faire, is a turf-covered hut circle. It survives as an oval platform 16.0m SE-NW by 14.0m overall, and standing up to 0.8m high in the SW. Revetting is visible around the W quarter. The entrance has probably been in the SE. There are no positive traces of contemporary cultivation in the vicinity. The immediate area does show slight traces of later rig and furrow.
Surveyed at 1/10,000. Visited by OS (J B) 13 September 1979.

This hut-circle is situated on grassy slope of ground on crest of Cnoc na Faire. It's wall forms a stony external scarp about 0.5m high and a series of probable outer facing-stones are visible around SW. With the exception of a single possible facing slab protruding through turf on ESE, the inner edge of wall cannot be identified. Overall hut-circle measures 16.5m from NW to SE by 14.5m transversely and entrance is on SE. To either side of hut-circle there are short cultivation ridges (about 1.7m broad) cutting across crest of the ridge. They are probably spade dug and may account for the grazing strip along the crest of the ridge.
Visited by RCAHMS (SH) 12 October 1989
