OS 6" map, Sutherlandshire, 2nd ed., (1908)
Conflict of Gruids - "This name applies to the site of the 'Battle of Gruids' which took place between AD 1519 and 1522 in which Alexander, Master of Sutherland, defeated John MacKay of Strathnaver. Name Book 1873.
No further information was obtained during field investigation.
