OS 6"map, (1963)

The remains of three enclosures discovered during field investigation on a gentle south-facing slope.
Visited by OS (W D J) 18 May 1961

A settlement of three heather-covered hut circles, all having entrances in the SE.
'A' is built onto the slope; it measures 10.5m SE-NW x 9.5m within indistinct traces of a stone wall.
'B' is about 11.0m in diameter within a wall 0.5m high and with a maximum spread of 5.3m on the west side.
'C' is 13.0m in diameter within a wall 0.6m high and spread to 3.5m. The entrance is flanked by large portal stones. Set 4.0m outside and opposite the entrance are two opposing upright boulders, 1.5m apart and up to 0.7m high; other boulders lie on the ground at their base. This setting possibly delineates a passage-way to the entrance.
A small minor field system of about 3 hectares surrounds the huts. It is defined by isolated clearance heaps and occasional lynchets. No plots were noted, identification being obscured by a thick peat covering. A burial cairn (NC 83 SW 10) lies within the system.
