Full Description
NC83SW 20 802 336.
At NC 802 336 on a gentle SW-facing slope in open moorland is a settlement of three oval huts (A-C) within a minor field system. The huts are similar in appearance ranging from 6.5 m by 5.5 m to 8.0 m by 7.0 m within heather-covered walls apread to 2.0 m to 2.5 m broad, and 0.5 m maximum height. The entrances of simple form are in the south or south-east arc on the line of the longer axis. In hut'A' a larger boulder, 0.8 m high, has been incorporated as an inner facing of the wall.
The field system occupying three hectares is poorly preserved, and comprises scattered stone clearance heaps, at best 15.0 m apart around huts'B' and 'C', and one or two lynchets. No cultivation plots are discernible.
Surveyed at 1:10 560.
